Tatts - Saturday

The day got off to a very good start with Summer at Fernhill flying around the course. It was the biggest thing he has done and he did it all very well, he got a little bit tired and we got a few time faults which is frustrating, but I am certainly delighted with him.

 

Next on was Atlantic Vital Spark who made it all feel like a hunter trial, he popped round for fun easily inside the time, and showed that he is more than ready for a 4* campaign.

 

So for Georgisaurous I had a good warm up with two rounds under my belt, so there were no excuses and I had no worries.  He took on the course in a very grown up way found a super rthymn and could not have gone better. He also finished comfortably inside the time to hold onto his lead.  I am rather wishing he had a show jump in hand as that would be rather good going in to tomorrow.

 

The 3* course overall rode very well, most people did go well and the ground was perfect so it was a very good run to have had.  

Grafennacht was the hard luck story of the day. She was jumping pretty well and as luck would have it knocked the last fence down, and I annoyingly also got a few time faults and so we moved down to 4th, which was a shame.

 

Next on was Yes I Can in the 4* and I had an early draw so had no idea how the course was running, and I was very happy with how he went.  He gave me a superb ride, really stepped up to the mark, and coped with all the questions.  We got six time faults but it was probably the quickest he has ever gone and he will have come on enormously for the experience.  Even with his time faults he has moved up into 9th place.  The course started off rather well but did cause a bit of trouble, there were quite a lot of problems at a decent coffin.  Which was where poor Kazu had his undoing with a stupid stop on Bernadette Utopia.  He then decided to pull up and save her for another day.  Poor Melissa Townshend also came a cropper there.

 

Kazu was then jumping in the 4*S on Vinci de la Vigne and he kept hold of his overnight 2nd place with a foot perfect clear round inside the time.  He is very much here to get his 4* qualification, but I would imagine he might get a bit competitive tomorrow with the optimum time!

 

It was a very good day for Tattersalls.  Ian Stark’s courses overall rode really well, I think he did a fantastic job educating all our horses with such imaginative design.

 

All the horses are looking good tonight so fingers crossed for tomorrow, let’s hope Georgisaurous has got his spring heels on!
