New Season 2017

I can't believe the season is upon us already and we are looking forward to Moreton on Saturday with hopefully no more torrential rain.  It will be the first time I have ridden several horses, and there are a few exciting additions to the team.

We have also got a mainly new team on the ground; we have still got Andrew McConnon who is riding a couple of horses on Saturday, he has been joined by another rider Miguel Catela from Portugal.  Jackie is now doing three days a week to give her more time for exploring some other avenues.   Taking over from Charlie is Siobhan Sharples who comes with her own 5 year old horse.  Helping Sheve in the role is Hannah Brehaut, who has also got a fair bit of experience and also comes with her own horse.  Joining them on the team are Jodie Saunders, Josy Majer and Sam Smith, who all have also got a fair bit of experience but who are looking forward to gaining what they can from Fox-Pitt Eventing.

We have just got back from team training.  It was my first time with Chris Bartle and Dickie Waygood, and it all went well.  I took Little Fire and Oratorio and both will have benefited enormously from the outing.  Yesterday we actually did a bit of cross country with Chris, and it was the first time I have had a cross country lesson for 26 years.  Chris has got some fascinating ideas and I look forward to seeing the impact he has.
