Rockingham
It has been a very busy day at Rockingham with 5 horses and a 3am start.
Luxury FH finished fifth in the Intermediate section, and was much more settled overall. He was first in and got 27 in the dressage, had a fence down and then was great cross country, just getting a few time faults.
Henton For Fun finished 9th in his Intermediate section but was quite on his toes in the dressage to score 34. He had 2 fences down just being a little too keen, but he gave me a fabulous ride cross country, one of his best.
We decided to give Chilli Morning a spin round the OI as he is now not going to Badminton, and he thoroughly enjoyed his day out. He did a lovely test to score 23, added 4 in the show jumping, and popped around the cross country quite quietly, and I had a few more breaks than at Weston Park.
Gaucho felt on good form, did 30 in the dressage, one down and a lovely clear cross country.
Freddie Mac got the same score in the dressage, jumped my only clear of the day in the show jumping, and then gave me a very good cross country ride to finish in the minor placings.
It was a beautiful day and although drying up fast the ground was pretty good. The cross country course was fairly demanding and caused plenty of trouble, but overall rode very well. I was very lucky to have been given excellent times and thanks to my efficient team I was finished by 3pm!
