Tattersalls International - Show Jumping
After a late night with cross country running until 8pm on Saturday evening there was an early start for the 7.30am trot up at Tattersalls on Sunday morning. All four horses looked great and trotted up well which was a relief.
Fernhill Pimms and Freddie Mac, both down the order in the CCI**, jumped early in the day and each rolled a pole. I was overall pretty happy with how they both jumped and they will both come on hugely from the experience. They will enjoy a quiet few weeks when they get home before we make a plan for their Autumn campaigns.
In the CCI* Luxury FH was first of my two to jump. Sadly he knocked down the last fence which was costly, dropping him from 3rd to finish 8th, but I couldn't have been happier with how he jumped on the whole. Henton For Fun also had a frustrating afternoon as he too rolled a pole in the show jumping. This dropped him down into 2nd place, allowing Ruth Edge to move into the winners spot after her clear round. Although a little diappointing not to have clinched the win, Billy is still very low in experience and so the week away will have done him a lot of good. These two will also have a quiet few weeks before they have some more valuable outings at Novice/NRF level.
