Osberton - results and update
The final day at Osberton was overall a very successful one, with both Ramdam de Mons and Secret Night jumping clear to hold on to their 2nd and 4th places. I couldn't be more impressed by both of them, as they did not put a foot wrong throughout the competition.
In the 7yo final, Dynasty held on to his third place with a superb clear inside the time. This is the first time I have asked him to move up a gear at Intermediate level, and he coped really well showing a fantastic gallop. The 7yo course was fairly straight forward, but there were several good questions which he found very easy. The 2* was a big step up for him and he would certainly have been one of the least experienced horses there. He really excelled himself in all three phases and hopefully has a very exciting year ahead of him next season.
The Soapdodger and Reinstated both had steadier rounds, and had very useful preparations for Lion d'Angers in two weeks.
Little Fire was the only frustration of the day and lost his second place with a momentary hesitation at the drop into the water. He was cruising around the course well within himself so we all have to accept that these things sometimes just happen!
The Osberton team once again excelled themselves, putting on a fantastic event. The courses were perhaps not the most interesting, but all rode well and asked a few questions. Owners, riders and sponsors had a very enjoyable time, and hopefully the horses will come out next year ready to move on.
