Bramham - Dressage
Chilli got the day off to an excellent start in the CIC3* with a lovely test to score 31.5. He pretty much went as well as you could hope, and it was great to have him so relaxed and soft.
Freddie Mac also went well in the dressage, he did a very decent test in the CCI3* to score 46.2, to leave him in 4th position. He coped extremely well with the atmosphere and felt very confident which is great for the future. He had a couple of unlucky moments, one being my foot hitting the gate on the way into the arena, unsettling him and resulting in a very untidy entrance. He did some excellent work and I am delighted with the start he has made.
We have had a lot of rain but the ground on the cross country is holding up well and the course, as always, is decent with plenty to jump, including a large number of gaping ditches.
The forecast on Saturday is slightly dodgy at the moment and we are hoping that it might improve. I’ll enjoy having no dressage tomorrow and will focus on walking the courses.
