I had an excellent final day at Osberton, with Reinstated winning the 6 year old national championship, and The Soapdodger finishing second.

It was a very tight finish with the top three all finishing on the same score of 41.1, and in the end being nearest to the optimum time secured Jack's win.  He was one second closer than The Soapdodger, who in turn was one second closer than Zoe Wilkinson, who was so unfortunate to lose out in those circumstances.

The 6 year old one star cross country course rode very well, both horses made it feel fairly straight forward, which is what I had hoped.  I could not have been more delighted with how both horses performed over the weekend, they really could not have gone any better.

It was a very exciting win for Reinstated's owners Cathy Butler and Teresa Stopford-Sackville who have had a lot of fun with him this season.  I felt previously that he was not quite ready for the 6yo world championship at Lion d'Angers but now perhaps he might have been!  Instead he will be earning a well deserved holiday.

Fernhill Pimms and Luxury held on to their overnight first and second place in the 2*, jumping superb clears.  Luxury jumped out of order and when he had gone clear it was a great feeling knowing that a win was in the bag!  Andrew Hoy then went clear in third place keeping the pressure on Pimms, however he felt very focused and put in a faultless performance.

This rounded off a fantastic day for Catherine Witt, who owns both horses and The Soapdodger.

Stuart and Anna Buntine and their team must be congratulated on a hugely successful Osberton 2014.  Not only was the organisation very efficient but the atmosphere was great; really friendly and helpful.  Everyone was given every chance to really enjoy themselves.
