Osberton
Osberton was a weekend for the youngsters and it threw up a bit of a mixed bag.
Lamborghini had some slight differences of opinion in the dressage which caught me rather by surprise. The cross country course was quite question for her and in the frame of mind that she was in I decided not to be asking her the biggest question of her career.
Cayiano was in great form and I was hoping for a nice result. He did a pretty good test with a couple of blips which left him on a 30 – not quite as good as I would have liked. He took on the cross country very bravely but was a little bit wild, so some of the turns were costly on the time and he ended up with 0.8 of a time fault. It was all very tight and that cost him a couple of places. He then uncharacteristically rolled a pole show jumping and dropped down the order to finish 16th, which was not bad at all but not the result we had been dreaming of. He will have learned a lot, and it is very early days, and he will now have a well earned holiday back at Tee’s home.
The season is certainly quietening down but we are off to Boekelo in the morning with Moonlight Charmer, so that is our next excitement.
Georgia has moved on and it is that time of year to focus on the Team for 2023. We are looking for a new good Manager and another up and coming rider.
