Oasby - Friday 7th March
Oasby
It was great to get the 2014 season off to a start yesterday, amazingly only a week late. Oasby is a long old way from Dorset but definitely worth the trip.
Freddie Mac had a very good day, and was very excited to be out. His 35 dressage was unsurprisingly quite tense, the conditions in the show jumping were pretty terrible and I was delighted with one down. He went really well cross country, and was a double handful at times.
Gaucho also got a good run. He did a very nice test of 27, however he got a bit stuck in the mud in the show jumping and rolled 3 poles, which is very unlike him, but he was then fabulous cross country.
Henton for Fun was just having an easy run in the novice hc, he got 31 in the dressage. He also got stuck in the mud in the show jumping and got 16 faults, and he then flew around the cross country, loving every minute of it.
Seacookie just did the dressage as he would not have appreciated the conditions.
Oasby did a fantastic job to put the event on, whilst it was pretty wet and muddy it wasn't as bad as it is here in Dorset. However we are looking forward to a dry week apparently, so Aldon and Lincoln should be a bit more fun!
