Aston Le Walls
We had another day at ALW yesterday and a very worthwhile trip for the novices.
It was fantastic for Henton For Fun to have his first Novice win. Despite the gales he did a super dressage test to lead on 22.5 and he followed this up with a double clear to finish a comfortable four points ahead. He has not had a run for quite a while so I was delighted with how he felt. He is now making the novice courses feel very straight forward and is ready for his first Intermediate next weekend at Rockingham.
I had my first competition on Catherine Witt’s two novice horses Fernhill Luxury and Deli Dynamic. Luxury, despite a spooky tent full of judges at the end of his arena, did some nice work to score 29. He then jumped double clear. He was obviously very happy to be out and the run will have done him a lot of good. The plan will be for him to have one more novice run before possibly heading to Tattersalls for the CCI* at the end of the month.
Dynamic was also very excited to be out but I was pleased with his test overall which scored 30. He had the last fence down show jumping and gave me a good ride across country.
The team at ALW again did a fantastic job and the novice course rode very well.
We are now heading up to Chatsworth with a very full lorry for a busy weekend of CIC*, CIC*** & Advanced runs.
