Aston Le Walls
We had a good outing at Aston Le Walls today, where the horses were having their last run before Tattersalls.
Secret Night did a nice test to score 31, sadly he didn't very much impress the judge. He then rolled a pole in the show jumping. It was my day of one fenceitis in the show jumping. He then went very well cross country, the ground was pretty decent and the course was good so I let him run on a bit and got 11.5 time faults.
Reinstated was having an Intermediate run again, and he also did a very pleasing test, but sadly the judge didn't agree and gave him 32. He jumped a lovely round show jumping but just touched the last fence, and he gave me an excellent ride cross country. He felt very happy and confident and finished with just 12.8 time faults.
I was having my first ride of the year on Top Biats who excelled himself with a dressage score of 21. He just clipped the first part of the treble but jumped a very decent round. He felt fabulous cross country, but I took him quietly for 24.4 time faults.
The Intermediate course was nice and inviting and reasonably straight forward, the ground rode really well and definitely benefited from their March cancellation, and I think it gave a lot of people a good run.
