Chatsworth - Saturday
Under Oath delivered the goods with a really pleasing cross country. It was a very nice decent course but it was certainly the biggest he had ever done and I was thrilled with how he tackled all the questions. He thought it was quite hard work with the hills and mud but it was a very good experience and he learned a lot.
Yes I Can scored a rather better mark than I expected in the dressage to be lying in third on 30, I think the judges might have been a little understanding in the horrid conditions. He then jumped a superb clear in the show jumping. But on cross country he was a little disappointing. I had not run him since Burnham Market which was a month ago and in hindsight I think that was too long ago. He was a little bit green and unfocused, and the skinny in the water caught him out and I had a frustrating 20. However it was a very good run for him to have had ahead of Tattersalls. But I will certainly go for a cross country school before then. It was a great prep to have done and the hills will have brought on his fitness well. I am thinking bad dress rehearsal and all that, so still feeling positive about Tatts.
Kazu and Brookpark Vikenti held onto their lead in the 4* show jumping with a clear round, and go into the cross country this morning on their dressage score of 26 which is great news.
Lexi did a very respectable test which she was pleased with on 33.
