Aston Le Walls - Intermediate day
It was a huge day at Aston Le Walls with Under Oath doing his first Intermediate, and he totally pulled it off with a double clear. He did a really nice test for 25 which had him right up there, the show jumping was on grass because of the necessary space, and it was quite a decent track in quite mucky conditions, he coped brilliantly, and very much took it in his stride. The cross country was not too difficult but it wasn’t small, and he jumped around it as if it was a Novice. Lindy Best was there and it was certainly very emotional having our homebred go so well in his first Intermediate.
Summer at Fernhill was happily back to normal (after his last outing to Aatom le Walls) he got 20 marks better with 29 in the dressage, and then jumped a faultless double clear. I was most excited that he was so much more relaxed in the cross country. He was sensible and rideable, and it really felt that he was more back to normal.
Adam was there with Secret Night doing his first Intermediate of the season, and he also had a happy day. He did a very good dressage and got 29, rolled a couple of poles in the show jumping which was a minor detail,, but had a great ride cross country which is what it is all about, and very important as it was only his second or third Intermediate.
Everything ran smoothly at Aston, the team had done a fantastic job. But certainly the torrential rain on Thursday gave us pretty much perfect conditions today. What a total blessing for August.
