Luhmuhlen

 I had a good day today in Luhmuhlen with both Neuf Des Coeurs and Lionheart jumping super clear rounds across country.

Neuf Des Coeurs gave me an excellent ride and finished comfortably within the time coping well with twists and turns of Luhmuhlen and moving him into 5th place.  I was quite suprised that he tripped a little on landing in the first two water fences as he is usually very sure footed.  But having watched the remainder of the day I realised how good he'd been to recover so well. The first water caused a surprising amount of trouble, penalising 7 horses, 5 of which suffered horse falls.  The fence wasn't in anyway difficult but the waters there are always slightly unprecdictable, as I discovered with Cool Mountain at the last Europeans!

I therefore started off on Lionheart slightly apprehensively but I needn't have worried as he was foot perfect all the way and jumped superbly from start to finish.  I would not have had as many smooth rides at 4* level as the one he gave me.  I was also really pleased that he coped so well with the time finishing full of running.  His faultess round moved him up to 7th.
