Pontispool
It was an early start today for Pontispool and a quick turnaround having got back from Blenheim last night. Bekky had everything organised, and Charlie who worked for me a couple of seasons ago came back to help for the day and drive the lorry.
It is always a bit of an effort to get going again on a Monday morning, but it was well worth it with all the horses having a very useful day out.
Oslo was on great form, jumping a lovely double clear in the OI, and a score of 26.8 in the dressage. The ground was pretty firm but they had worked hard on it and I felt it was worth giving him a run to help him prepare for Pau.
Ramdam de Mons finished fifth in his Novice section, with a 26 dressage and a double clear.
He is feeling on good form and I am looking forward to getting a few more runs into him.
Reinstated and The Soapdodger were in the Intermediate Novice, both were a bit off the pace in the dressage but jumped well. Reinstated did a super double clear, and was right on the button despite not having had an outing for five weeks, The Soapdodger, after rolling a pole in the show jumping, gave me a good ride cross country. Both got a few time faults with quiet rounds.
Pontispool did a good job with the ground, particularly given how dry it has been and they had made a huge effort putting down landings for every fence.
