Blenheim result
Rio backed up his solid cross country with a lovely clear in the show jumping and he moved up into second place. He really did his best to clear every fence and he came home inside the quite tight optimum time. I don’t feel I gave him a foot perfect ride so was very chuffed he was so good to me, but he really meant to clear the fences, and it was a super improvement on Bramham. I was very lucky to have Ros Morgan helping me warm up today and she must take some serious credit.
The show jumping did cause a bit of trouble and the time was tight. Poor Rio was only beaten by 0.3 which he is a little too tight for my liking.
It was a fantastic win for Bella Innes Ker, she led throughout the competition and put in a really professional performance and she is only 24.
The team are now on their way home and ready for a busy day at Pontispool tomorrow, where I am hoping conditions will be go-able.
WEG trot ups have now taken place but the chaos continues with the show jumping being delayed due to the forecast. Needless to say the weather was fine today and it could all have happened. I thought the only place with an unreliable forecast was the UK! Very good to report that Kazu’s Tacoma is in good form so all to go for in the jumping tomorrow.
