Lion d'Angers - dressage day 1

I was very pleased with The Soapdodger's dressage, he coped really well with the atmosphere. He did a lovely test to score 45.7 which has him in 4th place overnight.  It was very annoying that I managed to turn the wrong way in one of the pirouettes, just incurring an error of course, but it would not have changed his current position.  

The weather has been fantastic so far out here at Lions.  The cross country course as always is looking very impressive.  There are a few demanding fences particularly towards the end of the track; the big drop off the roof followed by two arrowheads, three fences from the end, looks probably set to be the most influential.
The ground is pretty good, on the firm side, and work is in progress.

Reinstated is on later today, second last to go, so it will be a big day for him, the atmosphere he will never have experienced before.
