We have just had an enjoyable day at Aldon with very good weather, albeit a bit cold
I had Georgisaurous out again in the 100 and he was definitely a bit more relaxed. He did a nice dressage and got 30, and then jumped another double clear. He show jumped very cleanly, and on the cross country was in a slightly better rhythm this time. He did make some of the distances seem very short, and I thought walking the course that the course designer must have short legs!
Yes I Can was attending his last Novice as he has now upgraded with a nice double clear. He was much better in the dressage and got 33, show jumped a clear without a doubt and was much more relaxed cross country, getting a usual load of time faults.
Seventh Heaven had an interesting day. He did a very nice test but with a couple of basic mistakes to score 34. He then show jumped a lovely clear, having said that we had a very interesting warm up as he bucked me off and bolted back to the lorry - just to make sure I stayed on my toes. He then felt class cross country with a very relaxed super clear.
FC Torino had another good day, I was very pleased with his dressage. He was in a good frame of mind and tried hard and scored 28. His show jumping round was as class as usual, and he jumped a very confident happy clear cross country, but moved down the order with time faults.
Andrew was out riding Daddy’s Quest and Andarilho, and they also had a good day. Andarilho did a nice test of 29.8, had a good round show jumping and was unlucky to roll a pole, but went clear cross country inside the time. Daddy’s Quest did a good test of 32, show jumped a good round with one down and went nicely clear cross country.
I have got a quieter day tomorrow just with two, and a busier day on Sunday with the Intermediate sections.
Thanks to Alex Wakeley for the great photos
