Gatcombe
I had a very successful day with the novices at Gatcombe.
Henton For Fun was competing in his first Novice and completed an excellent double clear. He was quite excited in the dressage to score 31.5 which was still a very respectable mark. He jumped and went cross country very well, taking the step up in his stride to get his first point and finishing 7th.
I was having my first ride on Soltair Justice for Rupert Nutall. He was a bit off the pace in the dressage but did some nice work. He show jumped very well and gave me a good ride across country with only 0.4 of a time faults to finish 9th.
Kelly Prather was riding Star Time in his first Novice. He scored 36 in the dressage, jumped a good clear show jumping and went well across country, but some difficulty turning in the water resulting in having to turn a circle and so picking up 20 penalties.
The course rode well and we had a very enjoyable day.
