Pau CCI****
Chilli Morning got Pau off to a very good start for me this afternoon. He did some lovely work to score 44.7 putting him in the lead after the first 20 horses in the CCI4*. He was first in to the arena which is never a very enviable spot but at least he will het the best of the ground on the cross country.
Bay My Hero is on tomorrow (Friday) at 16.24 (15.24 UK time). At the moment he is feeling very bright and a long way off performing any sort of decent dressage test but hopefully by tomorrow afternoon he will have settled down.
The cross country course goes the other way round from last year and as always there are a few serious questions. One of the toughest being the first water at fence 6 where a right angled turn on three strides and a serious camber, before dropping down into the water could be quite tricky. Both the other two waters are reasonably demanding and there are the characteristic mounds to cope with as well.
The weather was beautiful for the first day and now sadly we could be in England.
