We have had a very enjoyable day at Aston, and it was jolly warm which is quite a shock to the system.  It is hard to believe that Nigel had to put water on the course and underneath it was drying rapidly through the day despite the UK’s mental rainfall this year.

Latest Edition was in his second day at Novice level and had another very satisfactory ne.  Very decent test and scored 31.  I was first in at 8am and I would like to think my judge was still feeling slightly cautious.  He jumped a good round with one silly pole and flew around the cross country.  He was very balanced and is growing up every time out.

I had Hussard Brun out again and he produced a very decent dressage to score 30.3, I think that put him in a pretty prominent position.  He had one silly pole show jumping, he jumped well, and I took him comfortably around the cross country, which he found very straight forward.

Cusco is coming on nicely and did a very good test, also to score 31.  He also just touched a pole show jumping and I was pleased with his round and he flew around the cross country very easily.

Then I had my first round on Vicky Brake’s Seeing Double, which is a lovely horse. I was pleased with his dressage, he got 33 and was maybe a little green, but on his first outing I couldn’t have expect much more.  The show jump round was spot on and he felt great cross country, only his second round this year so we have got some catching up to do.

Tomorrow I am back with Absolutely in the Intermediate and who knows what will happen, but everyone is saying it is going to pour with rain.  Luckily at Aston the weather doesn’t really matter.
