Tweseldown
After quite a late night yesterday, 5am felt like a particularly early start for Tweseldown today.
I had four horses in the Novice and they all finished in the money which was great.
Top Biats had his first Novice win finishing on his dressage score of 23.5. He led the dressage with an excellent test and jumped really well. The cross country was very flowing and I could let him bowl on without having to go too fast. It was good for him to have an easier cross country after the track at Chatsworth last weekend and he will now have a couple of weeks off.
Brass Monkey also did an excellent dressage of 24, which put him right up there. He had the last show jump down which was frustrating as he jumped well. He was clear across country inside the time so I was pleased that he finished in the placing’s.
Deli Dynamic scored 31 in the dressage and added nothing to that with a very confident double clear which left him in the placings.
Luxury FH also did a good test to have the same score as Dymanic. He jumped a good clear show jumping and added nothing on the cross country which will also hopefully have given him a place. It was a good run for him before Tattersalls CCI1* in two weeks time and it was nice to let him bowl on a bit more. I decided to drop him back into the Novice from the NRF as it was only his second outing this year and I wasn’t sure how big a show jumping track they might build!
We are now heading home for another quick turnaround as tomorrow morning the horses are off to Houghton.
