Aston Le Walls
I had a very pleasing day with Oratorio doing his first Advanced. He was clear around the cross country, and that was his first Advanced so that is quite an achievement. In the dressage he did some very decent work and I was very pleased with how he felt but he made some expensive green errors and ended up with a 35. In the show jumping he jumped a nice round and it was unlucky that he had the second fence down but I had perhaps got in a bit too deep. He made the cross country feel lovely and easy, and took it all on in his stride. It was not a very difficult course but there were some questions and he answered them all.
I decided not to run Clifton Signature or Little Fire on the cross country. But they had good outings. Little Fire did a nice test to score 30 and was very confident and relaxed, he also jumped a lovely round show jumping but had one down. Signature did a lovely test with a couple of silly mistakes and then jumped a super clear.
I was having my first run on the Guinness' mare Annalies, she is by All That Jazz. I was very pleased with her day. Her dressage was nice and calm and she scored 31. She jumped a nice rhythm, and gave a nice feel. And she made the cross country feel easy which it was.
Seventh Heaven was also in the Novice which was a shame as he probably should have been Intermediate. He did a nice test also scored 31. And then did an excellent double clear to finish on his dressage score in 4th.
I am back again tomorrow with the Intermediates, and thankfullythere has been some good rain.
