Aston Le Walls Intermediate
It was a satisfactory day at Aston Le Walls but not laden with glory. They all did nice enough dressage, they all had a fence down and they all went clear cross country.
The Graduate did a very pleasing and much more relaxed test to score 24 and be in the lead. He had a silly fence down show jumping but jumped a good round, and he went very happily around the cross country with a few time faults but slipped down the order. Hopefully the outing will have set him up well for the Novice Championships at Gatcombe.
Yes I Can got a dressage mark of 30 and he did do some nice work. Show jumping he also had an unlucky pole down, but was definitely more organised than he sometimes is, and cross country he went very smoothly round feeling nice and confident at the Intermediate level.
Shannondale Percy's dressage was very nice and he scored 27 which had him in 5th place. He also jumped a very smart show jumping round and was unlucky to roll a pole. Sometimes he tightens behind and this one he touched in front. He gave me an excellent ride cross country making it all feel very easy, and becoming more confident at Intermediate level as well. He is also off to Novice Championships next.
Aston have been working very hard in all the conditions, and the Friday night rain did the course ground no end of good for today. The Intermediate course was a good one but perhaps not the most interesting.
