Somerford
Apologies for the late Somerford update - very tardy!
It was great to be out again and even more amazing to be enjoying some lovely going. We had a crazy trip up to Somerford in a day, leaving at 2am and getting back at midnight, but it was well worth it. Goodness knows how Jackie stayed awake!
I had Atlantic Vital Spark competing in his first Intermediate and he had a very pleasing day with a 30.5 dressage, one silly pole down and a lovely clear cross country.
Ludo FH was also competing in his first Intermediate and scored 32.7 in the dressage, and followed it up with a very professional double clear.
I had three in the Novice at the end of the day. Grafennacht gave me my only win of the day and was very accomplished. She led the dressage on 25.3 and added nothing in the jumping phases, winning very nicely. And hopefully making her very ready for her first Intermediate at Wellington on Monday.
Georgisaurous very excitingly had his first Novice run of the season. He led the dressage again on a score of 23.3, and put in a super double clear, he was very excited on the cross country and slightly strong but that is to be expected.
The Graduate was also having his first run and produced a decent test of 26, one silly pole down couldn’t have mattered less and he popped around the cross country very happily.
The Somerford team did a fantastic job with their cross country course, it was very varied and educational and the ground was superb so we could not have enjoyed the day more.
