Yesterday was the Novices turn for an outing at Bicton and overall we had a very good day.
The highlight of the day was Seventh Heaven finishing third in his Novice section. He did the best test he has done so far to score 28, it was a little behind the leader but he did go the best he has gone. He then did a very satisfying confident double clear to finish on 28, making it all feel very easy.
The Graduate had his last Novice run before he goes Intermediate at Aston, and he did a good test of 26. He was unlucky to roll the last pole of Show Jumping because he jumped a super round, and he made the Cross Country feel very straightforward, but incurred a few time penalties dropping him down the order.
Georgisaurous was out again and put in a very solid performance, he also got 26 in the Dressage, jumped a lovely clear and flew around the Cross Country very easily. He is definitely relaxing a bit now and taking it all more in his stride. But I am still keeping him very much with the handbrake on, and he incurred 20 time faults.
Shannondale Percy led the Dressage in his arena with a very good professional test to score 23. He found the Show Jumping very easy and did a super clear, and I took him again quietly around the Cross Country to finish 11th.
Helen West and her team had done a great job at Bicton for the Novices. I thought the cross country was slightly a bit easier than in the past, but it was ideal for the young ones, and despite the dry weather the only bit of pretty firm ground was in the Dressage.
The Bicton team as always were super friendly and efficient and did very well to keep the running of the three days of competition seeming so effortless.
