Nunney
Friday at Nunney was a boiling day and with four rides
The day started well with Duke Legacy in the Open Novice. He led the dressage on a score of 26.3. I just added a small time faults on cross country for his win. It was a very nice course, and probably slightly easy for him at this stage but it was a good confidence giver ahead of Farley Hall next week.
Cayiano and Papillon Noir were having a 100 and they both had very pleasing days to finish second and third. Cayiano did a lovely dressage test but Dani Evans did a better one, so it was not my day!. Papillon Noir put in a very solid performance and will hopefully be looking at doing Novice quite soon.
Under Oath was in the Intermediate and I was more than happy with his dressage in which he scored a pleasing score of 28.2. In the show jumping he jumped a pretty nice round, although he dropped a pole. I think I can perhaps put that down to the camber and I saw that many other horses similarly found the show jumping tough. He then took on the cross country very happily and made it feel like a walk in the park. I got plenty of time faults as he was not enough in the hunt.
Nunney is always a very special and fun event, riders and owners are made to feel so welcome. It is always one that I am sad to miss.
