Gatcombe
We had a good weekend at Gatcombe and were very lucky overall with the weather.
Friday was a lovely day and Raffles went well. His dressage was not his best but he show jumped very well with one down, and did a good clear cross country. This was great as it is showing that he and Hector are forming a good partnership, which is encouraging ahead of their CIC run next weekend in order to get their Tattersalls qualification.
Balu Gidran was competing in his first Novice and went very pleasingly. He did a lovely dressage test and scored 31, rolled a pole show jumping but jumped well over what was a decent and long track, and was foot perfect cross country.
Top Biats was having his first run of the season, and had a very good day, happily second in the dressage on 27.5, jumped a lovely clear show jumping and was foot perfect cross country. He was very happy to be out and back on the scene. He will hopefully run next weekend at Burnham Market in the Intermediate.
Yes I Can was having his first Novice run, and had what can only be described as a good learning day. Conditions were much tougher and happily he came home full of running and feeling great.
Red Kite was our last entry having her first Novice run and she too showed a ‘green-ness’ but went very well cross country, and Hector was happy with how she felt.
