Withington - Saturday
We had a very happy day at Withington today, it was very lucky it was a nice day and near perfect conditions
Little Fire was in the Intermediate again, he did a nice test to score 34, which was perhaps a little harsh. He jumped an excellent round show jumping and was unlucky to roll a pole. And he then took on the cross country and made it all feel very easy, that was very encouraging as it was only his third Intermediate.
It was a lovely Intermediate track with some quite decent questions and several changes had been made which were excellent, but there were a few distances that were quite dodgy, I thought it was perhaps just me but that was an overall opinion,
Secret Night was having a very late first Intermediate run of the season and was excellent. He did a lovely dressage of 32, was very unlucky to roll a pole in the middle of the treble, jumping a very good round. And he was then the old pro that he is cross country and made it all feel very easy.
I was on Reinstated again and was very pleased with how he felt. He did a very good dressage of 30, had a pole down in the show jumping but I let him run a bit quickly trying to do the time, and he felt really confident, giving me a lovely ride cross country.
They will hopefully have one more run before they go to their three day event in Tattersalls.
I am back in tomorrow with the Advanced horses and very much hope that we are lucky with the weather because it would be lovely to run them on such good ground.
